Exploring New York City for Stationery Finds

Our Trip to the NY Now and Shoppe Object Gift Shows

This past weekend, Don, Brian, and Brendan of Atlas Stationers had the chance to take a trip to New York City to attend two incredible gift shows: NY Now and Shoppe Object. Our goal? To discover exciting new products for the store, meet some of our favorite brands, and explore everything the city has to offer. From meeting top-notch brands to stumbling upon quirky finds, it was an unforgettable trip. Here's a recap of our adventure!

Attending NY Now and Shoppe Object Gift Shows

The main reason for our trip was to attend the NY Now and Shoppe Object gift shows, two of the most anticipated events in the stationery and gifting world. These shows are where we get the first look at what’s new for the year, and 2025 is shaping up to be an exciting year! We had the chance to meet with some of our favorite brands like LAMY, Kaweco, Midori, Leuchtturm1917, MT Washi Tape, Toyo Toolboxes, and more. Not only did we get a sneak peek at new products, but we also got to chat with the makers themselves about what’s coming next.

One highlight was seeing all the new releases for 2025. From sleek pens to beautiful notebooks, it was clear that the year ahead would be filled with great stationery offerings. We are definitely in for a treat. Our team couldn't stop talking about all the incredible designs and innovations we saw. We can't wait to bring some of these new products to our customers!

The Quest for Quirky Stationery Finds

As much as we love high-end stationery, we also enjoy discovering fun and quirky products that make the perfect gifts or unique additions to our collection. While wandering the gift shows, we came across some seriously cool items.

Some of our favorites included:

  • Sushi Keychains: These adorable little sushi keychains are the perfect way to show off your love for Japanese cuisine and add some fun to your keys or bag.
  • Cat Stickers: Who doesn't love a cute cat sticker? We found a variety of whimsical, playful designs that will surely put a smile on anyone's face.
  • New Notebooks: It wouldn’t be a stationery trip without discovering some amazing new notebooks, and we found some stunning designs that will definitely be making their way to our store shelves.

There were so many amazing items that we could hardly keep track of them all, but trust us when we say that your stationery collection is about to get a lot more exciting.

Exploring NYC Beyond the Shows

Of course, our trip to New York wasn't just about the gift shows. We also had some time to explore the city, and boy, did we make the most of it!

One of the coolest spots we visited was the Pineider Flagship Store, where we got to experience their luxurious selection of fine writing instruments and stationery. It’s a must-see for any stationery lover who appreciates high-end craftsmanship and design.

We also took a stroll around the NBC Tower, admiring the iconic architecture and feeling like true New Yorkers for a moment. Another highlight was checking out the Vessel statue in Hudson Yards Public Square. It was an eye-catching piece of public art that made for the perfect photo op.

And then, we had the honor of encountering the largest vampire pigeon EVER. Yes, you read that right! It was a pigeon with a seriously imposing presence, and we’re still debating whether it was a real pigeon or some kind of mutant version. Either way, it definitely made our trip memorable!

A Weekend Well Spent

From discovering new products for Atlas Stationers to exploring the vibrant streets of New York City, this trip was everything we hoped for and more. We’re so excited to bring back some fantastic new items for our customers, and we can't wait to share the new stationery treasures we've found!

Stay tuned for more updates as we start adding these products to our collection. And, of course, if you're ever in the area, stop by Atlas Stationers to see all the amazing finds from our trip!

Stay Smooth!

-The Atlas Team
