Atlas Stationers 2025: A Year to Remember
Atlas Stationers has always been more than a business; It is a family story four generations strong, and it is a story we share with all of you, our incredible community. 2025 was a year of big changes, exciting milestones, and moments that reminded us just how grateful we are to have such a supportive fellowship behind us. Here is a short recap of some of our 2025 peak moments:
April: A Fresh Start
We kicked off the year with a full renovation of our retail store and warehouse. From an updated layout to improved displays and organization, the refresh was designed to make your in-store experience even better! Walking into Atlas now feels brighter, bigger, and more inviting than ever before.
July: A New Chapter
After 40 years of leadership, our dad and third-generation owner, Don Schmidt, retired and passed the business on to us, Brian and Brendan. This transition makes us fourth-generation owners! It was a proud moment for our family, and we’re dedicated to leading Atlas into its next chapter while honoring the decades of dedication that came before us.
August: Record-Breaking Sidewalk Sale
August brought our 38th annual Sidewalk Sale. We featured over 40 amazing vendors from across the world. We were thrilled to welcome more than 3,000 customers through our doors, making it our biggest turnout yet! Plans are already underway for Sidewalk Sale 39: A Stationery Festival on August 13 and 14, 2026. We promise to make it greater than ever!
October: Kakimori Pop-Up and Atlas Events
October was truly magical here at Atlas. We hosted a sold-out four-day pop-up event with Kakimori, who flew in all the way from Japan! Guests had the rare opportunity to design custom notebooks and blend their own inks, making this one of the most unique events in our store’s history. We also launched weekly craft events at Atlas Stationers, where we bring our community members together for crafting, creativity, and comradery.
November: Growing the Atlas Family
November was a month of challenges and growth. We welcomed 12 new team members, expanding the ever-growing Atlas team and making our staff stronger than ever! In the same month, our parents’ house and our childhood home, sadly suffered a devastating fire. While the timing during our busiest weekend of the year was tough, we were so grateful that Don and Therese were safe! Their resilience, positivity, and determination inspired all of us:
True to form, Momma T returned to the store the next day, greeting customers with her usual warmth during Fountain Pen Day weekend. She demonstrated the true meaning of perseverance to us all.
December: Momma T (Therese) Retires
December marked the retirement of Therese, a milestone that felt both bittersweet and celebratory. Her legacy and spirit remain at the heart of Atlas, and her guidance and anecdotes will continue to shape our family and our business for generations to come.
Through every moment, our team and community have been exceptionally incredible! From helping us navigate challenges to celebrating our wins, you are truly a key part of the Atlas story. Words cannot describe how endlessly grateful we are for your support and enthusiasm!
Looking Ahead
We have so many exciting events coming up in 2026 that we cannot wait to see you for:

Thank you for being part of our journey, for supporting our family through thick and thin, and for sharing your love of stationery with us. Here’s to making 2026 another year to remember.
With gratitude,
Brian & Brendan Schmidt
