Atlas Stationers has been a fixture in downtown Chicago since 1939, serving fountain pen enthusiasts and stationery lovers through our Lake Street retail store, our Shopify Plus website, and social media channels. We're a close-knit, growing team that takes pride in curating the best in writing instruments, paper goods, and stationery.
We're looking for a Merchandising Associate to shape how our store looks and how our products are presented, stocked, and discovered. You'll take on the same customer-facing floor duties as our Retail Associates, but with a specialty focus on visual merchandising, stocking strategy, and keeping displays fresh, organized, and on-brand.
Build and maintain visually appealing product displays and merchandising sets throughout the store
Plan and execute seasonal resets, new product launches, and promotional displays
Manage stock replenishment, ensuring shelves and displays remain fully stocked and organized
Maintain planograms and visual merchandising standards across departments
Partner with the purchasing, retail, fulfillment, and ecommerce teams to align in-store merchandising with new arrivals and closeouts
Monitor product presentation, pricing accuracy, and signage
Assist with receiving, unpacking, and processing incoming inventory
Track slow-moving or overstocked items and coordinate markdowns or closeout placement with the team
Support customers on the sales floor and operate the register as needed
1-2 years of retail, merchandising, or visual display experience preferred
A strong eye for visual presentation, layout, and store flow
Comfort with hands-on stocking tasks, including lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods (up to 25 to 30 lbs)
Detail-oriented and organized, able to manage multiple displays or resets at once
Basic comfort with inventory or POS systems
Friendly, team-oriented attitude, comfortable assisting customers when needed
A genuine interest in stationery, fountain pens, or specialty retail is a big plus
Full-time, approximately 35 to 40 hours per week. May include some early morning, evening, or weekend shifts for stocking and resets outside of peak shopping hours. Differential pay for Weekend and Holiday hours.
